MLK Monday: Celebrating with Cake

My kids love holidays. I also have a 2nd grader who loves learning about everything. She learned in school about Martin Luther King Jr. and insisted we celebrate the this weekend. The kids decided we needed to make a chocolate cake. They made the decorations, and I thought it was so cute.
Kids really are the future, and I know these sweet kids are going to go out and do good in the world (at least that's the hope as a mom). We had a nice talk about the message of "being judged by the content of our character, not the color of our skin", and it was a great way to celebrate this weekend.
